Ballentine suggests a daring move: reuniting Daniels with his former LSU teammate, Brian Thomas Jr., by trading with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He argues that this could be a mutually beneficial deal, citing the strong connection between the two players during their college days. Ballentine believes that this strategy has worked well for other teams and could be a game-changer for the Commanders.
This proposal certainly has its appeal, especially considering the bond between Daniels and Thomas. Their on-field synergy led to both being selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. However, there are valid concerns about Thomas' performance dip last season, especially after the Jaguars acquired Jakobi Meyers.
Furthermore, Jacksonville is unlikely to let Thomas go easily. With his impressive rookie season stats, including 1,287 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, the Jaguars hold a strong bargaining position.
